Pure Soil, The Story
From Farm to Jar
A story of an Obsession, a Passion and a Dream
Pure Soil is an innovative Abu Dhabi based family business that aims to change people's eating habits towards eating pure, natural, and organic.
Pure Soil is re-inventing pure food by creating 100% pure, natural and organic recipes to substitute staples in the market that are full of chemicals and artificial nonsense.
Our Artisanal Chef & Innovator, Bodour Altamimi, is a passionate artisan who loves experimenting with exotic flavors to create a gourmet experience in every bite using all natural and high quality ingredients.
Her willingness to create 100% pure substitutes to market-bought and chemical-loaded staples made her immerse herself in scientific research to marry her passion of creating delicious gourmet recipes with her obsession to innovate functional pure alternatives to chemical loaded food in the market. She successfully scored on functionality, and created insanely delicious gourmet flavors that have no replica in the market!
Her passion started after suffering an autoimmune disease and continuous migraines for a long time till she discovered that the food she consumed with artificial ingredients were causing her agony. She made it her mission to innovate recipes that are free of these poisons to save her health and make sure her children live a healthy future.
Aiming to spread awareness to change people's eating habits, and wanting to share her pure recipes with the world, Bodour launched Pure Soil in 2024 with a goal to revolutionize people's eating habits.
We innovate recipes that have undergone a lot of research to find the best natural ingredients to create All Natural products that replace the unhealthy artificial and chemical staples used in our everyday life.
We use zero preservatives, artificial additives, colorings, synthetic flavorings, processed ingredients, and nonsense ingredients you can’t pronounce or comprehend.
Every family member lives true to Pure Soil's promise, and each one of us loves farming!
FOR ANYONE WHO LOVES STORYTELLING, ENJOY THE READ..
Pure Soil was born from a story that combined an Obsession, a Passion, and a Dream come true. Not fully related, but together they created the concept by chance. If you love storytelling, go ahead and read the story narrated by our founder:
THE OBSESSION
"I had an OBSESSION to eat all pure, all natural, all organic and fresh and to steer away from processed foods and poisonous ingredients that have caused my continuous migraines and eczema flare ups. From a calorie and macros counting habit, I switched to the label reading obsession to clean up my body from all the poison I’ve been unknowingly consuming. My migraine attacks went down from twice a week to once a month! I knew I was on the correct path. I learned that the marketing headlines “Organic” or “non-GMO” meant nothing on their own without fully reading the ingredients label.
Having my two beautiful children, I also learned that synthetic flavorings, colorings, preservatives, MSG and processed foods all contribute towards brain deterioration and increased misdiagnosis of ADHD (and over medicating children). Combined, these have increased my obsession to look for the cleanest products out there. From the exhaustion and inability to find enough products that tick all my criteria, I started making my own homemade recipes for my family. Which turned into a PASSION."
THE PASSION
"My PASSION of making everything from scratch for my family and kids was filled with love, knowing I’m growing a happy and healthy home. At first, we made our own rice cereal, oat cereal, baby cookies, nut spreads, healthy purées, you name it. As my kids grew up and I saw my mom and aunts using my grandma's recipes to make home made pickles, spreads and jams, we started making more of our own recipes at home. We made our own granola, pizza and pasta sauces (and dough of course), ketchup, many jams so no fruits go to waste, pico de galo, different nut milks for my morning coffee, tomato paste, pesto, pomegranate molasses, different varieties of pickles, and again you name it."
"As I started sending out my famous jams to my family and friends, I heard the phrase 'you must start your own jam business' several times. Every time I would smile and say 'I can’t see myself running a food business'. Little did I know!"
THE DREAM
"Then the DREAM came true. The dream of having my own farm and becoming a farmer! I lived my childhood summers visiting my Jordanian mom’s family and going to our Ajloun farm and loving everything about the process. Going into the coop to pick up the morning eggs before breakfast and being chased by the hen. Harvesting tomatoes for the allayet banadora. Going down to the field to harvest grape leaves for the wara enab. Harvesting grapes, apples, and apricots for our afternoon snack, and cleaning up the farm from summer to summer. I grew up always dreaming of having my own farm. As my obsession grew, I really needed to take control of the quality of my own food intake and becoming self sufficient. In 2022, I walked into a farm in Bahia that looked exaaaaactly like our Ajloun farm (without the elevation) and we insisted we buy it. After months of hesitation from the owner who loved his farm and after hefty negotiations, we finally fulfilled this dream. A dream I didn’t realize would create the same joyful memories for my children."
"This DREAM that came true helped me grow my PASSION and satisfy my OBSESSION. Now we can finally and freely eat all pure, all natural, all clean, all fresh, all organic with zero nonsense. As the production of our farm grew beyond our own needs, I realized that we can share this goodness with everyone out there who share with us the same PURE eating philosophy."
And Pure Soil was born.
"P.S. when I decided to create this business, it took me only 3 seconds to come up with the name Pure Soil :) just too simple and to the point isn't it? And it took me only 3 days to create our logo that represents the vintage methods and recipes we use, and puts together the two most precious fruits in our farm, the bambar and the loz ❤️"
PURE SOIL: OUR CLEAN & PURE PROMISE
Pure Soil operates with high levels of ethics towards its environment, animals, plants, customers and employees. Our philosophy is that you are what you eat and drink, and to have a clean and healthy body you must eat and drink clean. We cook and prepare our products with passion, because guess what, even our positive energy contributes to a healthier product!
Only happy animals and plants can give you nutrition beyond the norm. Not every free range is really free range, except when your birds can freely roam and forage a large farm like ours with more than 2000 sqft per bird (the free-range rules require 2 sqft per bird only!). Not every hormone free is free of cortisol, the stress hormone which heightens from the bad tight cage conditions the birds endure on a daily basis. We are truly organic, truly free range and truly hormone free.
We harvest on the day (or buy from neighboring farms who harvested on the day) and prepare the fresh jars with all natural, organic, clean and fresh ingredients. Our recipes and cooking methods are all natural and original with no modern day ingredients and technologies that adds nonsense (and in our opinion, poison) to your dish. We use no preservatives, colorings, flavorings or jelling agents or anything you can’t pronounce or comprehend, which is why your newly bought jar must be refrigerated and consumed within a short period of time.
We use all stainless steel and cast iron cooking pots and utensils. Even our cutting boards are stainless steel. Our jars are made of glass, and in nowhere in our cooking or storage process do plastic, aluminium or bamboo get used. Some parts of our final packaging might include plastic, but none would touch or contaminate the contents.
Lower contamination with PFAS, microplastics and aluminum:
We use no plastic in any of our packaging or storage materials, only glass, paper and pulp;
We don’t use any silicon or plastic in our cooking utensils, only stainless steel;
We don’t use non-stick cookware or aluminium, only stainless steel and cast iron;
We don’t use any chemical and synthetic pesticides at our farm and we only buy from neighboring farms with our same farming methods
